Over the next few weeks, we will be learning about different types of transport. The children really enjoyed reading 'The Naughty Bus' and were able to sequence the story accurately. They are becoming more confident in their writing and are able to use their knowledge of phonics and the 'tricky' (or red) words to help.
We also looked at how transport has changed over time and the children could sort transport into the categories of 'past' and 'present'. They found the pictures of old bicycles (such as Penny Farthings) particularly interesting. They also really enjoyed creating their own buses using sponge painting.
In maths we have been using mathematical language like 'rotate' and 'manipulate' when working with 2D shapes. The children are learning that the properties of shapes stay the same even if the shape moves into a new position. They worked extremely hard to complete tangrams.
